Our Young Adult
Engage is a therapeutic environment located footsteps away from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, and minutes away from the mountains. Engage’s purpose is to provide therapeutic support for young adults struggling with attachment distress, and relational trauma that is often creating emotional and relational challenges. These challenges may be depression, anxiety, loneliness, and lack of purpose. An Engage candidate is a young adult that is stalled in the developmental process of establishing a separate and independent life from their parents. Our participant is struggling with relational trauma, anxiety, depression, moderate substance abuse and a potential emerging personality disorder that are creating significant barriers to move into healthy independence. Our Life Coaches
Engage’s therapist and certified life coaches are driven by principles of attachment while understanding the developmental needs of young adults. It is through Engage’s therapeutic guidance and life coaching one can better experience stronger emotional connections and develop new responses to familiar relationships challenges. Our therapists and life coaches are here to honor the young adults' need to gain independence and freely move to a more secure sense of self and their relationships. That's why we believe that is is vital for our staff to be certified WholeFITT life coaches. WholeFITT is the process of guiding and facilitating a change while meeting the individual where they are and where they want to go. Our Attachment Approach
Attachment driven means cultivating a therapeutic environment that supports security, exploration and connection. We are intentionally attachment focused. Attachment driven is creating therapeutic opportunities to better understand one’s attachment history and how it is currently shaping one’s internal working model. Through the power of healing relationships and experiences we are capable of updating our attachment system that is a more accurate reflection of ourselves and the confidence to connect. Interactions with security enhancing figures become the building blocks of developing secure attachment.
