Group Therapy Programs for Adolescents
Is your child experiencing depression, anxiety, isolation or suicidal ideation? Have you tried individual therapy but it hasn't helped? Embrace U combines psychiatry, individual therapy, and group therapy to offer complete treatment of behavioral disorders. Our clinical team helps participants develop stronger self-esteem, along with the coping and communication skills they need to live happier, healthier lives. We also offer parents education and a support group to ensure your child stays on a path towards recovery. Embrace U offers two programs - intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization, meeting 5 to 3 days per week. We offer a safe space where your child can learn to express their emotions, identify triggers and learn how to live with mental health challenges. Most participants stay in our programs for about six weeks. When an adolescent has a mental health challenge it helps to have a supportive network of peers and therapists they can talk to. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Some of our program participants have recently completed inpatient treatment. Others needed more intensive treatment than is offered in a traditional outpatient setting. We develop an individualized treatment plan to provide you and our care team with a focus and direction as you progress through our program. Participants in our intensive outpatient program (IOP) come at least three days a week, from 3 to 5:50 p.m. They engage in community group, psychoeducation, therapy skills training, and process-oriented group sessions. They also have regular meetings with our psychiatric providers and individual sessions with a therapist to guides them through the program. We provide two 10-minute breaks for IOP participants each day and a selection of snacks. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is designed for adolescents who are not currently attending school due to a mental health challenge. We start by developing an individualized treatment plan to provide you and our care team with a focus and direction. Our psychiatric nurse practitioner will meet with you once a week, starting with an assessment upon admission to the program. Group therapy is the primary mode of treatment at Embrace U. We use art, dance, and play therapies, along with group discussions and counseling to help you and your family members feel prepared, educated, and confident. Participants in PHP come five days a week. Each day begins around 1 p.m. and ends around 5:50 p.m. We offer breaks and snacks throughout the day.
