Embark Behavioral Health in Phoenix, Arizona, previously known as Doorways Counseling Center, is an outpatient treatment program whose therapists help adolescents, teens, and young adults with mental health issues. Our outpatient treatment helps young people struggling with issues like eating disorders through an intensive outpatient program (IOP), an eating disorder IOP, and a therapeutic day treatment program (also known as a partial hospitalization program, or PHP). Our counselors will help your family get the mental health treatment you need in your local Phoenix community. They specialize in helping young people who are struggling with behavioral health issues like eating disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, and depression through a unique therapeutic framework.

Our Phoenix clinic located in the Uptown Phoenix area offers individual, group, and family therapy as well as therapeutic/peer mentoring, home behavioral health care services, psychiatric services, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dietitian services, addiction treatment, and parent coaching. The Eating Disorders IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) at Embark Behavioral Health in Phoenix, Arizona is 3-5 days per week. We understand the devastating toll that Eating Disorders can take on a person and on their family. We incorporate group therapy, individual sessions, and family involvement to provide the best chances for moving on to the fullness of life. Groups are small and generally do not exceed 10 adolescents, teens, or young adults, allowing for a safe and supportive environment. We have provided this opportunity for support and healing since 2012.

The DBT skills group at Embark Behavioral Health is open enrollment, which means you may join at any time. This program is designed specifically for adolescents who are struggling with: Depression/Anxiety Self-Harm/Suicidal Idealization Poor emotion regulation Difficulty establishing/maintaining healthy relationships Substance use. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based, cognitive behavioral treatment. DBT Group Therapy is based on helping emotionally sensitive individuals learn appropriate ways to regulate their emotions rather than resorting to engaging in maladaptive behaviors to manage negative feelings.
