Supporting Sensitive Teen Boys
At Discovery Ranch, our students are teenage boys aged 13 to 17. They receive dedicated support tailored to their mental and behavioral health challenges. The program focuses on helping highly sensitive teens who may struggle with emotional regulation and social interactions. Our students often face issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and challenges in forming healthy relationships. We also provide specialized care for boys with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In our structured and supportive environment, these young men can cultivate coping skills, build resilience, and learn to thrive both personally and socially. Holistic Support for Teen Boys
At Discovery Ranch, your son will join a supportive therapeutic community focused on helping him understand and regulate his emotions. With small class sizes and a competency-based learning model, he receives individualized support from dedicated, qualified teachers. He’ll experience a range of evidence-based therapies, including individual, family, and group therapy, equine therapy, calf adoption, recreation therapy, and community service. Family involvement is integral, with weekly family therapy, visits, seminars, and a secure parent portal for updates. Discovery Ranch’s skilled staff, with an average of over 23 years of experience, create a safe, structured environment where he’ll build resilience, self-confidence, and essential life skills to thrive beyond the program. A Supportive Community for Families
It's heartbreaking to watch your son struggle with mental health challenges. It's natural to want to protect him from pain and to try to fix things for him, but sometimes he needs a different kind of support to learn how to cope with these challenges. At Discovery Ranch, your son will be welcomed into a therapeutic community with a focus on helping him recognize and regulate his emotions to gain control of his actions. You as the parent, will also receive the support and guidance that you need from certified mental health professionals, to know how to communicate with and support your son when he returns home. Our parent seminars provide parents with the opportunity to connect with other parents who are experiencing very similar things. This adds to the positive sense of community as support and helps to remind parents that they are not alone in this difficult time.
