The Newport Academy philosophy of care recognizes teen behavioral issues, such as substance abuse, eating disorders, and other co-occurring disorders, as symptoms of underlying mental health challenges, most often trauma, depression, and/or anxiety. In order for teens and families to achieve long-term, sustainable healing, treatment must address these root causes through integrated, comprehensive care that involves the entire family in the healing process. Our solutions-driven, outcomes-based approach is founded in compassion, expertise, and unconditional love. We nurture every aspect of a teen’s well-being, addressing their physical, psychological, social, educational, and spiritual needs so they can thrive when they return home and as they take the next steps toward young adulthood. Our mission to empower teens and restore families. To that end, we track a number of different treatment goals and commission rigorous third-party evaluations of our programming. Data on our outcomes shows consistent positive results in measures of well-being, depression, and anxiety, with patients’ improvements, on average, exceeding levels of clinical significance during and after treatment.

Dialectical (DBT) Treatment Centers
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the treatment most closely associated with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Treatment Centers practice DBT in both individual and group sessions. The therapy combines elements of CBT to help with regulating emotion through distress tolerance and mindfulness. The goal of Dialectical Behavior Therapy is to alleviate the intense emotional pain associated with BPD. Its core assumption is that change and acceptance are intertwined. We typically think of our efforts to change things as emerging out of non-acceptance. We either decide to accept things as they are or we seek to change: through DBT it's not a case of change or acceptance, but resolving the conflicts to allow for self-acceptance and constructive change.

If you're looking for DBT therapy in Connecticut or for a Connecticut DBT treatment center these professionals provide dialectical behavior therapy, DBT group therapy, DBT therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy (which is a common misspelling) and dialectical therapy. They provide dialectical counseling, DBT counseling in Connecticut and DBT treatment. They include DBT groups, DBT therapists, DBT psychologists and DBT counseling.

Rehab in Connecticut

Clients who are looking for Drug Rehab in Connecticut or Alcohol Rehab in Connecticut can find help at a treatment center. The first step towards recovery usually requires clients to detox in Connecticut under medical supervision, and follow-up with a period of intensive therapy at the center.

INPATIENT or OUTPATIENT?

Residential inpatient treatment in Connecticut consists of 24-hour care at a live-in facility. Full treatment services, including medical and behavioral therapy, are provided all at one location.

Outpatient treatment programs in Connecticut provide flexibility to those who are unable to take time away from their regular lives, work or school. Programs typically meet at the clinic a couple of times every week for a few hours at a time.

Certain programs provide a combination of the in/out approach: Inpatient for medical stabilization, partial hospitalization for moderate cases, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics for follow-up. For instance, opiate abusers may find it helpful to begin their abstinence with a brief but intensive outpatient opiate drug detox in Connecticut.
