Our mission at Polaris Teen Center is to assist adolescents ages 13 to 17 in the initial phase of addressing and treating a mental disorder that has significantly impaired everyday functioning and has resulted in destructive consequences. During this transitional period, we empower clients and their families to transform their lives by replacing hopelessness, despair and self-destructive behaviors with renewed optimism, confidence and a plan for the future.

The foundation of our programming is our team of compassionate and highly experienced behavioral healthcare professionals. The Newport staff is comprised of the best mental health leaders in the country, surrounding each client with 360-degree care. Because Newport’s philosophy of care views family as central to long-term, sustainable healing, the groundbreaking Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) methodology is also a central component of our approach. ABFT is proven to be successful in addressing adolescent and young adult suicidality by repairing ruptures in the parent-child relationship. Our clinicians receive ongoing training and consultation from ABFT’s co-founders, and are also trained in a wide range of other evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, and ACT.

Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center serves adolescent girls and women ages 16-55 who have eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns and addictions. Because we recognize that eating disorders can be complex, we employ a range of treatment modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). For clients who are struggling with co-occurring addictions, we may also incorporate the 12-Step model of recovery into their individualized treatment plan. In our residential program, clients can participate in individual therapy approximately three times per week. Family therapy is also available, and daily group therapy sessions — led by therapists, registered dietitians, nurses, art therapists, and more — give clients the chance to take part in evidence-based therapies, discuss relevant topics, and engage in creative activities, all in a group setting. Clients typically remain in our residential program for 30-60 days depending on their unique needs.

Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy integrated with Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and other data-driven modalities. Evolve Treatment Centers supports adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, addiction, and/or behavioral issues. Evolve Vanalden is a Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Residential Treatment Center: the first of its kind in California and one of only a handful in the country. DBT is an evidence-based treatment that has been proven to help reduce emotion dysregulation, self-harming behavior, and/or suicidal ideation. We treat teens diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, addiction, or other issues. Evolve's robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy (at least five scheduled 1-hour sessions a week), DBT Skills Training Groups (4 times a week), and skills coaching (24/7). Teens learn and practice the four core skills of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. At Evolve, we don't just learn DBT, we live it. With the help of our specialized staff, teens practice and apply their DBT skills at all opportunities throughout the day.

Newport Institute provides options for young adults and families at each step along the journey of healing. Our full continuum of care includes residential treatment centers; a full suite of outpatient programming, with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with a flexible number of days per week; continuing care through virtual sessions; and a robust Alumni program providing online and in-person events and support groups. All of our programs are accredited by the Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare.
