Insight Treatment Program is a recognized intensive outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment program for teens, young adults and their families. When our emotional life is out of balance or unregulated we often find ourselves repeating patterns that become self-defeating. These self-defeating patterns can leave us feeling anxious, unsatisfied, or depressed, and often lead to low self-esteem. We may feel shame, the feeling that something is deeply wrong with me or that I am defective, different, or not good enough. When these emotions are untreated we may isolate or seek relationships hoping they will make us better. We have found that generally when a person experiences different types of trauma, distress and dysregulation caused by trauma can lead to other manifestations of the pain including addiction, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and attachment difficulties. We may compulsively eat, use drugs or alcohol, spend, or over work. We may find we walk through life always ready for the other shoe to drop, full of tension and anxiety or even experiencing panic attacks. Or we may find that we have lost interest in things that once brought us joy and live our lives feeling sad or numb.

Our 42-bed facilities offer medical detox, inpatient rehab, residential treatment, executive-level programs, Veterans Track, as well as outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs. We operate our own sober living and transitional living, plus a robust alumni aftercare program. Our intimate group setting fosters an environment where clients feel safe and comfortable. Treatment plans are customized to meet individual needs. We offer Couples Counseling and Family Therapy AT NO CHARGE, and Individual Therapy on a sliding scale, based on ability to pay. For 50 years, CalFam has been providing a safe, compassionate and confidential place for people from all walks of life to find the help they need. Services are provided by pre-licensed therapists supervised by fully licensed therapists. Openings are available for children (6+), adolescents, and adults through telehealth for all California residents. The counseling center offices are due to reopen in January 2022.
