About Oasis

Our programs are designed to provide each client with stability during times of crisis so that they are able to move forward with the recovery process. Our compassionate staff members strive to offer hope to clients who are often suffering from depression. Hope is the recognition that the future can be different and is the fuel for recovery. At Oasis we approach each client with optimism about their future and recovery, addressing each roadblock independently and using setbacks as growth opportunities. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of treatment for all patients that walk through our doors. It is our vision to offer support and understanding that empowers individuals be encouraging hope, healing, and recovery. We are able to achieve our vision by remaining true to our 4 core values: Compassion, Support, Empowerment, and Recovery.

Signs and Symptoms of Depression

Depression is a mental health disorder that will greatly affect an individual's mind, body, and thoughts to the extent that it interferes with all aspects of daily life. Additionally, it has the ability to impact the way an individual eats, sleeps, feels about him or herself, and views the world around them. Children, adolescents, and adult with depression are experiencing something much more than just a bad day, they are not able to simply pull themselves together and make these debilitating feelings go away. In fact, without getting proper treatment the symptoms of depression can last for weeks, months, or in some cases even years. Some of the signs and symptoms of depression can include loss of interest in activities that were once pleasurable, loss of appetite, loss of emotional expression, consistently sad, anxious, or feeling empty. Individuals who are depressed also tend to have feelings of hopelessness, guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness. Additionally, individuals with depression tend to social withdrawal from friends and family, have trouble concentrating, and experience persistent physical problems such as headaches, digestive disorders, or chronic pain. In severe cases of depression an individual may engage in self-harming behaviors and have thoughts of suicide.

Treatment for Depression

When you arrive at Oasis they provide a comprehensive evaluation process for each person, which will allow us to appropriately diagnose and develop an individualized treatment plan that meets all of the client's needs. Our inpatient treatment approach aims to stabilize current crises and allow our clients to safely transition into their next phase of treatment. Oasis also offers a residential treatment center (RTC) for adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17 who are facing emotional, behavioral, and substance abuse challenges. Our depression treatment has been scientifically-validated and empirically-supported through our years in the mental health field and generally involves a combination of therapeutic techniques along with medication. Both our acute inpatient and RTC programs provide an array of therapeutic techniques designed to help our clients successfully recover from depression. Treatment options at Oasis typically include medication management, group therapy, family therapy, as well as experiential methods. Finally, as the time for your discharge approaches, we'll work closely alongside you and your loved ones to ensure that your aftercare plan meets your continuing treatment needs.
