About Cross Creek Hospital

Cross Creek Hospital, located in northeast Austin, offers treatment for adolescents, adults, and senior adults who are struggling with emotional and/or behavioral concerns and any co-occurring chemical dependency issues. Comprised of 11 different units, Cross Creek offers compassionate and caring environment where our highly trained mental health professionals are devoted to providing highly effective inpatient treatment. At Cross Creek, we recognize that the reasons why individuals entrust us with their care, which is why our entire staff strives to provide a personal touch in the treatment they deliver by approaching each individual with genuine concern. We treat each patient with the respect that he or she deserves and we make it our mission to reduce the symptoms of that our patients are struggling with, increasing their overall quality of life.

Signs and Symptoms of Depression

Individuals struggling with depression often become so overwhelmed with emptiness and despair that they begin to have problems functioning on a daily basis. Depression can make it extremely difficult for a person to make it through the day, in some instances an individual may not want to get out of bed. Some depressed individuals may feel lifeless or empty while others may be consumed with feelings of helplessness and worthlessness. Additionally, those with depression may be unable to concentrate, may sleep too much or too little, are more irritable than usual, and may begin to engage in unhealthy behaviors such as drinking more than usual. In some cases an individual may become so overwhelmed with feelings of despair that they feel like there is no way to make the pain go away and so they being to have thoughts of suicide.

Treatment Options at Cross Creek Hospital

At Cross Creek Hospital, we offer a variety of inpatient treatment programs in order to meet the specific needs of each patient, helping them to reintegrate back into the community. Each one of our inpatient programs have a multidisciplinary focus in order to ensure an integrated approach to the treatment process, increasing stabilization and growth. The three main treatment methodologies utilized at Cross Creek include cognitive-behavioral therapy, didactic therapy, and multiple experiential therapies, including art therapy and yoga. Furthermore, all treatment is individualized and holistic in nature. In addition to these treatment modalities, Cross Creek also offers individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, and medication management.
