We're Here For You
Population-specific therapy for folks who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, questioning, pansexual, asexual and more is a critical need. We know that LGBTQ+ folks ands their families have experiences of trauma, anxiety and depression that are shaped by unique gender identities, sexualities, and bodily experiences (such as being intersex). Counseling at Pacific Pride features a team of clinicians (a majority of whom identify as LGBTQ+) trained in issues relevant to LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS mental health–with full, robust training in best practices for Transgender (Non-Binary included) clients. Our counselors are overseen by the well-respected Bren Fraser, LMFT, and offer high-quality, culturally competent individual, couples, and family therapy for a sliding scale fee based on income and number of dependents. Currently all therapy is teletherapy. *Counseling at Pacific Pride is not a Crisis Center. If you are in the throes of addiction, are immediately suicidal or self-harming, or experiencing acute intimate violence -- we are not a fit. Instead, immediately call 911 or seek out crisis referrals like the Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255
How We Can Help
Issues brought by our clients include but are not limited to: Relationship Challenges; Gender Dysphoria; Gender Identity Affirmation; Communication Skills; Depression; Anxiety; Boundary Issues; Living with Sobriety; Domestic Violence; Grief and Loss; Newly Diagnosed with HIV; Sexual Concerns; “Coming Out” Process; Anti-LGBTQ+ Rejection from Family of Origin; Attachment Trauma; PTSD; Survival of Sexual Assault; Survival of Abuse (Physical, Emotional, Verbal, Financial, Spiritual, Sexual & more); Existential Crises; Social Development; Parents, Family and/or Friends who want to constructively/positively process their loved one’s “coming out” as LGBTQ+ and/or HIV diagnosis. And more!
We'd Love To Connect
It's hard to reach out for therapy when you're LGBTQ+ or a part of any targeted minority group, including Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color. The field of psychology hasn't always treated us well, but that's why our center exists: to provide an experience of relational therapy in the Marriage & Family Therapy model that is healing, destigmatizing and client-centered. Please know we're here to answer your questions and connect! Your experience of therapy has to center you, make you feel welcomed and seen. Our team works hard to do this for all of our clients and are always open to your input and feedback. We look forward to chatting whenever you're ready!
