Adult Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment
At Cottonwood Tucson, we rely on the latest research on the neurobiology of human development and the neuroscience of addiction and mood disorders to design cutting-edge, patient-responsive treatment programs. Our understanding of the developing brain, and how addiction and mood disorders can affect the brain's ability to make a content and confident mood, adds to our ability to successfully treat mental health issues in both adolescents and adults. Our intensive Adult Program includes a strong, solid base of medical management, twelve-step recovery concepts, family involvement, group therapy, nutritional counseling, and experiential therapies. Individualized treatment planning allows for effective drug addiction treatment and alcoholism treatment and co-occurring disorders treatment. We have been working with co-occurring disorders for more than 20 years and have experience in the treatment of complex and difficult issues.
Holistic Care
At Cottonwood Tucson, we strongly believe in the treatment of mind, body, and spirit. Our commitment to excellence is evidenced by our treatment program, which is comprised of a variety of treatment modalities and facilitated by our skilled and compassionate staff. Each patient is facilitated by a physician, psychiatrist, and primary counselor.
Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
At Cottonwood Tucson, we pride ourselves on our internationally respected dual diagnosis treatment and co-occurring disorders program. Frequently, substance abuse and another condition, such as depression, occur together - this known as a co-occurring disorder or a dual diagnosis. As a first step to determine whether there is a need for co-occurring disorders/dual diagnosis treatment, each patient who enters Cottonwood participates in a detailed medical and psychiatric assessment, including a thorough physical examination with a staff physician. Cottonwood's co-occurring disorders program has proven to have a positive effect on preventing relapse after drug and alcohol treatment.
