About

Substance Use Counseling and Outpatient Treatment

At Tangen Counseling we believe that anyone who desires a positive change in their life and is ready to explore their substance use should have the opportunity in a safe and supportive environment. We specialize in the following demographics: young adults; codependency / family members struggling to cope with a loved one's substance use; history of trauma; impaired family dynamics; gender specific treatment approaches; involvement with the criminal justice system; and impaired professionals.

Convenient and Various Options to Meet Your Needs

We are a fully licensed outpatient substance use treatment center near I-25 and Colorado Blvd (near the light rail, major bus lines, and interstate) in Denver, Colorado. We offer a wide array of substance use treatment services including comprehensive formal assessments, individual counseling, outpatient group counseling, family counseling, intensive outpatient treatment, and DUI Level II Treatment.

Individualized Treatment

Our treatment approach to serving our clients is eclectic, ranging from Motivational Interviewing, 12 Step Facilitation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT / Mindfulness Skills Training, Person Centered, Gestalt, EMDR, etc. We are committed to using trauma informed best practices and offer gender specific therapeutic interventions. We utilize evidenced based curricula and follow best practices. Each client initially receives a comprehensive assessment to identify individual needs and a treatment plan is then established with the client based on identified problem areas in the assessment and the client's goals for treatment.
