A New Choice

Choices Adolescent IOP provides an intermediate level of care for adolescents. The program specializes in treating adolescents ages 13-17 that are able to function at school and in the community, but need more structured support than traditional outpatient therapy can provide. Choices IOP provides multiple modalities of group therapy, including Psychoeducational, Cognitive Behavioral, DBT Skills and Expressive Therapy. Participants will attend three group sessions an evening where they will develop skills for symptom management. Adolescents will also have the opportunity to meet individually with their therapist weekly. Choices IOP would be appropriate for adolescents struggling with: Crisis management Depression, Bipolar, and/or Anxiety Non-suicidal Self-Injury, Self-Esteem, and Body Image Gender Identity and Expression, and Family conflict.

Our Innovative Multi-Family Night

At Choices, our goal is to be able to provide families with tools to better understand and support their child. We understand the impact relationships can have on our mental health and believe addressing dynamics within the family will provide deeper insight and treatment for the individuals. This is why: Every Wednesday evening includes parent/guardian support groups AND parent/guardian adolescent connection groups to strengthen family relationships and support ongoing recovery. At least one parent or guardian is expected to attend weekly.

Summer Programming

Choices Adolescent IOP is a great solution for families in need of more than just outpatient individual therapy during the summer months by offering a convenient schedule and an opportunity to prepare for the challenges of the upcoming school year. Evening hours allow adolescents to engage in regular summer activities such as summer camps, summer school, or other care arrangements during the day, and allow parents to participate in treatment while maintaining a daytime work schedule. Skills groups help adolescents to reinforce coping strategies during a time of less exposure to their stressors. Parent education and support helps parents and their adolescents strengthen the connections that will aid them in approaching challenging times with greater resilience.
