Dr. Bowen received his BS degree in biology from the University of South Carolina in 1980. In 1985, he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in 1988. After completing his residency, he worked as an Emergency Department physician for several years before transitioning into private medicine.
