Treating Adolescent Girls 12 - 18
We treat adolescent girls in a Residential Treatment Center who struggle with severe anxiety, OCD or OCD related disorders. Due to many co-morbidities and the complexity of our clients our staff and therapists have extensive background and training. Students come from all of the country and are typically struggling attending school or performing at a satisfactory level, they are avoiding life and the things they once loved, and they spend too much time on electronics. If struggling with OCD, their rituals and intrusive or ruminating thoughts are all time consuming. We support ASD1 as we have a Speech and Language Pathologist onsite that works on social and emotional coaching. A dietician supports those students suffering with disordered eating or recovering from an eating disorder. Academics are an important part of programming with live instruction in all core subjects. Executive functioning support and training is given in academics as well as in day to day life. Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities
We treat adolescent girls 12 -18 years old by utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities: Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our therapists are also trained in trauma and other modalities specific to clients needs. Individual, family, group and recreational therapy along with individualized, sequential exposures are a key component of our treatment. In addition to using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Cascade Academy implements daily exercise, meditation and mindfulness, yoga, nutrition and service into our treatment plan. A focus on a healthy balance emotionally, socially, mentally and physically is the core of our program. Caring Environment
Cascade Programs were founded based on the need for a caring, safe environment for adolescent girls who struggle with anxiety and OCD. Parents typically place their child with us as they know they will be safe and will not learn any bad behaviors as we are so selective in the review process. Each of our programs is in a beautiful home with plenty of space inside and outside. Getting out in the community and being involved in service and community activities is part of the program as students have avoided life and living. Their world has become very small resulting in parents and loved ones grasping for resources and solutions to help. Parents are in need of support and training. Family therapy and monthly support zoom calls with other parents are welcomed opportunities to connect and find the support and education they've been seeking. Supportive Parenting For Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) was developed by the Yale study center and is a curriculum of courses used to guide parents in how to best support their child with anxiety.
