Continuing Care
At Carolina House, we recognize that our eating disorder treatment program is only one part of a client’s journey toward healing. When someone participates in our intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, or residential treatment program, they will receive a comprehensive discharge plan that includes recommendations for various continuing care services to support long-term recovery. These services may consist of outpatient primary care, sessions with a therapist or psychiatrist, consultations with a dietitian, support groups, and educational resources. Our clinical team works closely with each client and their loved ones throughout the treatment process to create and modify the client’s discharge plan based on their specific needs. We want every person to know that they do not stop receiving comprehensive support and encouragement when they finish treatment. Our dedication to providing continuing care is rooted in our belief that healing is a lifelong journey. At Carolina House, we value the trust our clients place in us and strive to provide the highest-quality care. Family Program
At Carolina House, we believe that family involvement is a critical component of successful treatment outcomes for our clients. If you have a loved one who is participating in one of our eating disorder treatment programs, we encourage you to join our weekly family therapy sessions. These sessions meet virtually and offer a nonjudgmental environment where family members can learn about eating disorders and how to support their loved ones as they heal. During family therapy sessions, licensed social workers and psychotherapists can offer insights into the root causes of eating disorders and emphasize the advantages of treatment for both the clients and their families. At Carolina House, we are committed to providing whole-person support for every client and their family, and we place great importance on the role family, interpersonal relationships, spirituality, and community play in the treatment process. Our Treatment Center
At Carolina House, we provide comprehensive outpatient and residential treatment programs for adults who are struggling with eating disorders. We provide treatment at three locations in Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina. Our programs provide a safe and inclusive space for people to connect and engage in meaningful conversations about their journeys with anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, and other eating disorders or co-occurring mental health disorders. We offer various therapies, including individual, group, and experiential therapies, that are led by experienced behavioral health professionals, and our family therapy program offers support and education for clients and their families. Our treatment programs also incorporate mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques to aid clients in achieving long-term healing. We collaborate with each client and their loved ones to develop a plan for continuing care so that they can confidently build on the progress they made during treatment.
