Changing the paradigm
California OnTrack is an outpatient coordinated specialty care program that specifically treats individuals with thought disorders. We understand that the positive symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, are the most visible symptoms and therefore get all the attention, however, the negative symptoms, like avolition, anhedonia, social withdrawal, and emotional disorders such as alogia and affective flattening, are often the greatest barriers to attaining a life worth living. Our program is designed to achieve functional recovery and resiliency, and not just reduce the severity or persistence of positive symptoms. Our care model is all about helping clients regain a satisfying life that is filled with meaning, purpose and enjoyment, while managing or coping with existing symptoms. Coordinated care
Our coordinated specialty care program is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to ensure recovery is attainable and obstacles are minimized. In addition to medication management, our multidisciplinary team delivers a set of overlapping recovery and relapse prevention strategies that includes agency development, social skills training, cognitive remediation psychotherapy to improve distress tolerance and social cognition, trauma processing, substance abuse prevention (especially cannabis), as well as techniques to advance resiliency by expanding their repertoire of positive experiences. All of our services are in person. The exception being our multi-family therapy group via telehealth to ensure that family members are conveniently supported. For clients on clozapine, our program is equipped to simplify the blood monitoring process which returns neutrophil and white blood cell count within minutes to ensure medication compliance is uninterrupted. Recovery is the expectation — not the exception
