Balance IOP provides treatment, support and education to those struggling with depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, oppositional defiance, psychosis, and substance abuse issues including dual diagnosis.
Balance clients start with an intake assessment and diagnostic testing which will reveal possible emotional issues, social issues, educational issues or physical issues. Using the initial assessment, we will formulate an individualized treatment plan. At admission, the discharge planning needs of our clients are identified. We work closely with our clients to develop a comprehensive discharge plan to provide continuity of care and to assist our clients and their families in maintaining gains made throughout treatment. Balance IOP treatment will include psychotherapy, education and symptom management focusing on four components we believe to be developmental milestones: emotional, social, educational and physical. Only when all four of these components are addressed and in balance, can true recovery and stability be reached. Balance IOP utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities that have been shown to help reduce the symptomology of clients with mental health diagnoses.

Our therapeutic practices help patients know when/ how to use effective coping skills for avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, orthorexia nervosa, other specified eating disorders and co-occurring disorders like anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD.
Healing, growth and a positive relationship with food is possible with the Center for Discovery Dietary Program. We use the CARE Model, which stands for “consistent attuned relational eating.” This means patients have the steadiness of a dietary plan that is adaptable to what’s happening in their life. We believe in Health at Every Size because everyone can be healthy regardless of size, shape, weight or BMI. We encourage Intuitive Eating — nourishing ourselves when we’re hungry and recognizing when we feel full. We utilize the All Foods Fit model, which celebrates that all foods are nourishment, and no foods are off-limits in moderation. These core elements help our patients walk out of treatment feeling engaged, empowered and transformed so that they can manage long-term recovery. In fact, 86.5% of clients who completed treatment didn’t need to return to Center for Discovery or any other program for a higher level of care for eating disorder treatment.

We offer a bridge for those who desire or require more than a once a week therapy appointment but do not qualify for hospitalization. We focus on tools to help each individual gain the necessary skills to self-manage their mental health in conjunction with their Psychiatrist. Our caring and qualified therapists and clinicians take a personal and vested interest in the outcome of every patient's needs, utilizing group and individual sessions to create a community and tool sharing space as well as an individually tailored program for each person. Our outpatient programs allow those working, in school, with family obligations and other passions to maintain their daily routine while receiving support from Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health.
