San Jose Behavioral Health offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are in need of treatment for mental health disorders. In this program, patients can participate in flexible, person-centered care while also carrying out their daily responsibilities outside of treatment. At our outpatient treatment center in Santa Cruz, California, we strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment where patients can begin their healing journeys. Adults may enter this program directly or as a step-down to a less restrictive level of care. Typically, people remain in our IOP for eight to 12 weeks, and they attend treatment three hours a day, three days a week for the duration of their programming. Common modalities we utilize at this level of care include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and somatic therapy.

Since 2007, Woodleaf has helped clients with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder recover. We are the longest running eating disorder program in Northern California and our specialty binge eating program has been running over 16 years. Our adult program is intentionally small creating a safe, private environment in which to heal. Our convenient evening hours are designed so professionals and students can keep living their lives while they recover. Insurance often covers program costs and we offer scholarships whenever possible. All of our staff are licensed experts (no interns) and have been working together for years. New Directions is now offering a group treatment telehealth program. We can now provide treatment for clients who live anywhere within the State of California. Telehealth is an innovative way to participate in our group treatment program and allows clients to connect with the therapist and one another in real time. It is easy to use and requires a computer with webcam , speakers and internet access. All communications are confidential and comply with privacy standards. We offer: Intimate group settings with a limit of 8 in a group 15 weeks intensive outpatient treatment, groups meet 3 times a week Group therapy facilitation by a licensed therapist Consultation with a nutritionist and/or registered dietitian Coordination with your primary care provider and/or therapist Individualized food plans prepared by our nutritionist. We offer groups for adults as well as an adolescent group. Our program integrates mental health, physical health, and we focus on depression, anxiety and eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.
