Located on 12 peaceful acres in Marin County, California, Serenity Knolls is a residential treatment center where adult men and women ages 18 and above can receive comprehensive care for substance abuse, chemical dependency, and certain co-occurring conditions. Treatment at Serenity Knolls is a personalized holistic experience that features a variety of treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques, each of which has been selected and customized in order to best meet each individual's unique strengths, needs, and goals. In addition to the principles of the 12-Step recovery model, Serenity Knolls also incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other client-focused modalities into treatment. At Evolve Treatment Centers, we provide the highest caliber of evidence-based residential treatment for adolescents 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidality, aggression, defiance, trauma, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Our clinical staff conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each teen pre- and post-admission in order to develop a customized, highly detailed treatment plan that is constantly updated based on treatment progress. Our robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy at least 5 times a week; weekly psychiatry; groups on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, and Seeking Safety; and daily academic support. (Families from out-of-state participate in family therapy remotely.) Teens also participate in experiential therapies (e.g. equine, music, art, fitness, yoga, hiking, and meditation) as well as 12-Step/SMART Recovery programs for those struggling with dual diagnoses.

While we treat both boys and girls separately, this particular location treats teen boys.
