Groups
Loneliness and Intimacy: Adult Group (Online)

The group is for adults with personal and interpersonal issues: depression, anxiety, relationships, work, and family struggles. The group provides support and understanding and strives to build insight into interpersonal relating, and deeper issues that might impede clear communication and emotional expression, such as defensive reactions that can prevent intimate contact with others. We focus on the past as it shows up and affects interaction in the here-and-now, identify patterns among members and facilitators to increase awareness and assist in learning better ways of relating. This group is ideally suited for those already participating in individual therapy sessions.

DBT Skills Training (Online)

The Adult Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group is a skill-focused group found helpful for those who have difficulty regulating their mood and emotional states without alcohol or drugs or engaging in maladaptive or self-harming behaviors. Skills include mindfulness, navigating relationships, and managing one's emotions to help individuals gain self-empowerment and mastery in life. People from invalidating, unstable, chaotic, and trauma-inducing environments are most likely to benefit from the DBT group. Participants should be in individual psychotherapy while in the group.

Young Adult Queer Resiliency Group (In Person)

This group is for queer young adults (ages 18 to 30) looking for support in their identity journey. This group is an affirmative space to develop resiliency skills, explore gender, sexuality, and other dimensions of your identity, as well as our encounters with an increasingly challenging socio-political world. We will address strategies for handling conflict, rejection, micro and macro aggressions, & discrimination; self-love, discovery, and reflection; local resources and spaces for connecting with the greater LGBTQ+ community. Dr. Abigail Elakman, a Queer and LGBTQ+ affirmative psychologist, facilitates this group, which is ideally suited for those already in individual therapy.
