Outpatient Clinics
Brighton-Allston Mental Health Association (BAMHA), a program of Italian Home for Children (IHC) is a diverse community mental health agency that has been servicing the Brighton/Allston community and surrounding Metro Boston area since 1964. BAMHA also has an outpatient satellite office in Jamaica Plain. We offer individual and group therapy treatment, psychopharmacology, as well as family and couples counseling services. BAMHA services clients ages 4-80+. Our BAMHA clinicians are trained in various treatment modalities including: traditional psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, expressive therapy, and play therapy. We also offer In-Home Therapy, Therapeutic Mentoring, In-Home Behavioral services for children ages 4-20 through our partner Community Based Programs (CBP) at Italian Home. Our clinicians speak over a dozen languages, including Spanish. We now have immediate openings in all of our CBP programs, and offer telehealth services for your convenience and safety. Currently BAMHA offers Community Health Worker (CHW) services, both within the Boston Public Schools, as well as the local community. CHW are bachelor's level providers who assist students and clients with outreach services, psychoeducation, advocacy, and resources. This is a grant funded program that is available to all IHC clients. Group Therapy Program
Group therapy in several evidence-based programs as well as social emotional processing groups. Trauma Informed Behavior Based Interventions (8-12), Young Adult Transitions Group (ages 18-24), Dialectical Behavior Therapy- DBT (ages 18+) with several day/time options, Adult Social Skills Group (ages 25+), Adult Psychotherapy Processing Group (ages 50+). Groups
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- Adults
The DBT Group is intended to help adults (ages 18 yrs or older) practice mindfulness, increase assertive communication skills, strengthen emotion regulation, and learn new distress tolerance skills to help manage emotions more effectively. Working on these skills in a group setting gives adults the opportunity to practice hands-on DBT skills with their own personal life experiences, while doing so in a safe and therapeutic setting. Currently 2 co-ed and 1 women's DBT group running virtually on different days and times.

Adult Social Skills Group
An adult (25+ years), in person group, offering the opportunity to connect with peers and practice interpersonal effectiveness skills in a relaxed social setting. Excellent for clients struggling with social anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, and/or major mental illness (stable).
