Carolina House, located in Durham, North Carolina, provides residential eating disorder treatment for people who are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. We provide care at two locations: Our first facility is designed for women age 17 and older, and our second facility serves adults age 18 and older of all genders. The goal of both residential treatment programs is to help people find healing and lasting freedom from the burdens of eating disorders. The average length of stay at this level of care is 30-60 days, but each person’s actual length of stay depends on their unique needs. Treatment at our facility incorporates a number of therapies, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), motivational interviewing (MI), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
