Birchwood Counseling is a woman-owned small group of therapists dedicated to providing collaborative, evidence-based therapy. We focus on the recovery from traumatic and stressful life events and the symptoms that can show up in response. We treat PTSD, anxiety disorders, OCD, and adjustment disorders during life stressors and transitions. Our clients typically have a history of relational, emotional, physical, and/or sexual trauma within their lifetime. We also support clients who have had traumatic accidents, sudden loss, or exposure to injury and death.
Traumatic experiences and stressful events are greatly impactful and can present as symptoms that are distressing and disruptive. It is important to Birchwood Counseling to offer treatments that have been researched and proven to help reduce these unwanted symptoms.
We engage all clients in a collaborative assessment to better understand the current treatment needs and will make a treatment plan together that is most likely to be helpful. It is important to us to get to know you as a whole person and to understand your goals for treatment, so that we can best support your healing.

OCD Skills Group
This group is focused on learning essential skills and strategies to manage obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). What You Will Learn: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies for coping with OCD. Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to face your fears. How to build tolerance for and cope with uncertainty/doubt. Connect with others in a supportive and non-judgmental space. As part of this treatment we also offer 2-4 'Family Accommodation' sessions as we know shifting these dynamics is tough, but a professional can provide the specific structure your unique family needs.
