Medication Assisted Treatment
BHcare offers comprehensive substance abuse services for individuals struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction. Our comprehensive Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program is offered at our licensed and accredited outpatient clinics in Branford and Ansonia, Connecticut. Our MAT program includes prescribed medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-person” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Lose Addiction. Reclaim your life.
MAT for opioid use disorder (OUD), aka opioid addiction, uses Suboxone, which is a combination of a partial opiate and an opioid blocker. Suboxone, is used for opioid withdrawal treatment and reduces cravings but does not allow a person to get some of the effects from opioids. We also use Vivitrol (Naltrexone) and SUBLOCADE (Buprenorphine Extended-Release), another opioid withdrawal medication, which is an injectable opioid blocker. Now Offering Virtual Induction
Out of precautions for COVID-19, BHcare is now offering virtual induction for our Medication Assisted Treatment. Patients can go through withdrawal in the comfort of their own home. This provides increased comfort and faster access to induction for our patients. Here's what you can expect from a virtual induction: Utox urine screen at Quest lab. Patients must be in withdrawal for 8 - 12 hours to participate. Assessment is done via Zoom video conference, typically a 1 hour call. If deemed appropriate for Suboxone, BHcare will call in a prescription to the nearest pharmacy, and if that pharmacy delivers, the prescription is delivered to the patient's home. Patient will administer Suboxone, which is a sublingual film, and will need to check in at least once that same day. Follow up includes check-in calls 3 times a week during a 5 day workweek, as well as check-in calls from a BHcare Recovery Coach and assigned clinician. Take the first step to help.
