Residential and Outpatient Addictions Care
Drug or alcohol abuse and addiction can take a toll on relationships, family life, work performance, and physical and mental health. Northwestern Medicine Behavioral Health offers compassionate and effective abstinence-based care to address the cycle of substance abuse and addiction, and help individuals regain control of their lives. Our physicians are certified in addiction medicine, and offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol dependency disorders. Our services include: Medical Detoxification, Inpatient Residential Care, Rehabilitation, Outpatient Care- PHP, IOP, & Continuing Care, Dual Diagnosis, MAT, and a Outdoor Recreational Space. As the individual progresses through treatment, our team works to address behavioral, emotional, social and work-related issues. For patients with identified co-occurring mental health disorders, a psychiatric evaluation can be provided. Our compassionate approach has helped adults 18 and older safely and successfully withdraw from illegal drugs, prescription medications, alcohol and other substances as well as stay in recovery.

We treat substance use disorders, behavioral addiction and co-occurring mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders and other conditions to end dependency and abuse, and to help build hope. The national increase in opioid use is worsening the toll that substance abuse and addiction take on individuals and families. To meet the growing need to support those struggling with opioid and alcohol dependency, CDH offers additional services for both immediate intervention and long-term recovery. Our CDH facility also offers hospital-based detox and residential treatment in an open setting.
Mental health services for Teens and Adults
Northwestern Medicine provides a full range of behavioral health services for teens and adults challenged with psychiatric or mental health problems and adults with substance abuse/addiction disorders. Our specialists provide research-based, best-practice inpatient and outpatient care to meet the patient’s specific treatment needs. Both the PHP and the IOP are focused on helping adults regain healthy, fully functional daily lives. Our staff works closely with adults to address emotional, behavioral, social and family issues through individual, group and family therapies.
