Millcreek of Pontotoc, located in Pontotoc, Mississippi, offers a fully funded and accredited therapeutic day school treatment program for children and adolescents ages 6-21. This education program is specifically designed for those who require more intensive behavioral and educational help than a traditional education environment can provide. Students who participate in our residential or group home program attend our day school, but young people can enter the education program without completing another level of care first. Our education program provides quality care and education for students who have oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, and other mood and behavioral disorders. We offer a structured curriculum that aligns with Mississippi educational standards while incorporating therapeutic activities and strategies to address mental health concerns. Therapeutic Support
Our therapeutic day school program is a partial hospitalization program (PHP) in which children and adolescents can receive special education services in a structured setting. Students in our program receive a comprehensive and well-rounded education in addition to various therapeutic services to support their development. Every student participates in classes five days a week, and therapy sessions are integrated into the school schedule. Licensed therapists lead twice-weekly group therapy, weekly individual therapy, and monthly family therapy sessions. Therapy is informed by principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and offers a safe and nonjudgmental space for students to explore their relationships with others, develop self-awareness and impulse control skills, and learn how to build healthy relationships. By combining quality education with therapy, we can help students improve their emotional well-being and achieve their academic goals.
