Center For Discovery has been providing residential treatment for women and teens for over 20 years. At Center For Discovery, we provide residential treatment for women with eating disorders, teens with eating disorders, teens with mental health disorders, and teens with substance abuse issues. Each of our locations is dedicated solely to one of our specialized treatment programs. By keeping each location specialized to one of our treatment programs, we are able to provide the most effective and efficient treatment. All of our locations provide treatment for only a small number of residents at one time to maintain an intimate setting and a high staff to resident ratio. Treatment within a residential neighborhood allows our residents to feel more comfortable in a familiar surrounding and provides greater transferability and internalization of the treatment experience to life after treatment. We place a high priority on providing an environment where our clients feel like and are treated like people, never patients.

We provide a full continuum of care at locations around the country, including residential treatment centers; a full suite of outpatient programming, with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with a flexible number of days per week; telehealth; and alumni programming. All of our programs have received accreditation from the Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare, the nation’s most respected healthcare accreditation body. Our continuing care program provides ongoing support through virtual sessions, and our robust Alumni department keeps former clients connected through online and in-person events and support groups. Whether an adolescent needs a higher level of care, is stepping down from residential care and needs continued structure and community in our Partial Hospitalization Program, or needs several days per week of after-school support through our outpatient services option, our range of programming meets each young person and family where they are.

Our focus is addressing and treating the underlying conditions of substance use disorder with a well rounded unique staff. Clients reside in a non-institutional, home-like setting with private individual bedrooms that provide a safe and secure healing environment. Providing gender-specific treatment in a smaller group setting helps clients remain focused on the recovery process and strengthen trusting relationships. We have several homes located in the northern Los Angeles area and are licensed by the state of California and certified by The Joint Commission.

Discovery treats adult women 18 and over and adolescent males and females ages 10 - 19 in separate programs. At 'Ai Pono Maui Residential Treatment Center, we offer evidence-based, trauma-informed holistic eating disorder treatment in a peaceful home-like setting with picturesque views of the ocean (just footsteps away), mountains, and lush gardens. Our treatment center was designed to reflect and complement its surroundings - creating a peaceful, relaxing environment that will help women connect to their inner selves while on their journey towards recovery. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization (Day) Program in Maui and a Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program accessible to all residents of Hawaii.

Located in Sebastopol, California, Azure Acres Recovery Center offers comprehensive outpatient services that include a partial hospitalization program (PHP). Our PHP is available for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders. This level of care may be especially beneficial for people who do not require 24/7 monitoring but need structured treatment to achieve their wellness goals. Clients may enter the program directly or by stepping down from a higher level of care. The PHP meets Monday-Saturday for six hours each day. While the typical length of participation is 14-30 days, the actual program duration is determined on an individual basis. Interventions and techniques utilized at this level of care may include dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, recovery support groups, psychoeducational groups, art therapy, yoga, and recreational activities. In the PHP, clients have the opportunity to establish a solid support network and learn practical coping skills that they can implement in everyday situations.

We provide Child and Adult Psychiatry, Therapy and Substance abuse clients via video across California. Our Board Certified Psychiatrists and Therapists are available to help everyday and we can offer same day appointments. Telepsychiatry or Telemedicine uses video link (via computer or smartphone) to offer appointments from home or outside clinic. It offers the option to see a psychiatrist any time as long as you have access to your smart phone or computer.

New Directions is now offering a group treatment telehealth program. We can now provide treatment for clients who live anywhere within the State of California. Telehealth is an innovative way to participate in our group treatment program and allows clients to connect with the therapist and one another in real time. It is easy to use and requires a computer with webcam , speakers and internet access. All communications are confidential and comply with privacy standards. We offer: Intimate group settings with a limit of 8 in a group 15 weeks intensive outpatient treatment, groups meet 3 times a week Group therapy facilitation by a licensed therapist Consultation with a nutritionist and/or registered dietitian Coordination with your primary care provider and/or therapist Individualized food plans prepared by our nutritionist. We offer groups for adults as well as an adolescent group. Our program integrates mental health, physical health, and we focus on depression, anxiety and eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.
