Aspen Intervention Wellness Center's Groups
DBT
We offer DBT in our residential treatment center as well as in our outpatient program. DBT differs from traditional CBT in the emphasis on validation - a powerful tool whereby the therapist and the patient work on "accepting" uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and behaviors rather struggling with them. Once an identified thought, emotion or behavior has been validated, the process of change no longer appears impossible, and the goals of gradual transformation become reality. DBT process groups are powerful ways to identify high risk situations and develop new skills as well as avoidance strategies around issues that once held us back in life.
Alumni Groups
Our Graduates will tell you our Alumni services really work. Our Alumni program establishes a social support network of recovering people, while providing ever important structure to help maintain a sober lifestyle. When you make the choice to enter treatment for alcohol and drug abuse, you begin a journey that can be demanding on all aspects of your life. As you graduate there is an initial happiness, but also a fear. Alumni services provide a way for you to gain support and witness the success of others who have gone through a similar process.
