Evolve San Diego’s partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs treat teens ages 12-17 with mental health, addiction, dual diagnosis, and/or behavioral issues. Our licensed, specialized staff utilize evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), individual and family therapy, multifamily groups, psychiatry, and daily group sessions and psychoeducation (on topics such as DBT Skills, Relapse Prevention, Anger Management, and Seeking Safety.) We also integrate therapeutic modalities for addiction recovery, such as DBT for Substance Abuse, 12-Step support programs, and SMART Recovery. Many of our adolescents struggle with emotion dysregulation and high-risk, self-harming or suicidal behaviors. DBT is research-proven to help reduce these issues. Through DBT, we teach our patients the skills needed for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, improved impulse control, and effective communication. Since we believe treatment is most successful when the entire family is involved, we incorporate Parent Support Groups weekly as well.

Evolve Arden Oaks provides the highest quality of evidence-based residential treatment for adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidal ideation, defiance, trauma, aggression, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), in addition to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and other data-driven modalities. Our clinical staff conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each teen pre- and post-admission to develop a highly detailed treatment plan that considers the patient’s individual history and symptoms.
