Teen Dual Diagnosis Treatment at Evolve San Jose
Evolve San Jose treats children and teens ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, substance use, behavioral issues, and dual diagnosis. We specialize in adolescent depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, personality disorders, dual diagnoses, suicidality and other issues. Many of our children and teens have difficulty regulating emotions and are engaging in high-risk/self-harm behaviors. Our team of highly qualified, licensed clinicians and medical professionals utilize evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach children and teens practical skills for distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and improved impulse control. Through individual, family, and group therapy, psychiatry, parent support, and experiential therapies (including art, music, yoga, fitness and more), your child will learn ways to manage stress, communicate appropriately, and lead a more fulfilled, productive life. Our programs are suited for adolescents who need a higher level of care than weekly psychotherapy, or for those looking for an appropriate transition from residential/inpatient treatment. Two Program Options at Evolve San Jose
Children and teens at Evolve San Jose live at home and attend treatment in our centrally located space 3-5 days a week. We offer two program options. Our Intensive Outpatient Program offers a half day of programming 3-4 days a week. Our Partial Hospitalization Program offers a full day of programming, 5 days a week. In both programs, kids and teens receive one psychiatric evaluation weekly as well as 1-2 individual therapy sessions per week with our licensed, full-time clinicians. Daily, adolescents participate in groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Life Skills, Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness, 12-Step recovery, and Seeking Safety (for post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occurring substance use). Teens also receive daily academic support to help them stay on track with school. To determine which level of care is right for your child or teen, we offer a free assessment and referral services by our Clinical Program Director. Since we believe treatment is most successful when the entire family is involved, we offer Parent Support Groups and Multifamily Support Groups weekly as well. A program like ours, exclusively geared to kids and teens, can be a safer and higher-quality experience for your child than other programs that also include adults. Experts agree that children and teens require different approaches to recovery than other age groups. Research also shows that treatment works best when it is individually tailored to each child and considers their unique background, target behaviors and past history. Our multidisciplinary clinical team takes great care in crafting a customized recovery plan for each child after collaborating with parents, schools and referring providers. This individualized treatment plan is continuously reviewed and adjusted based on your child’s progress.
