Healing Trauma and Other Mental Health Concerns
At Iris Healing Retreat, our clinical & medical team work closely together to create an individualized treatment plan designed to treat the whole person - Mind, Body, and Spirit. We address our clients addiction problem on a deeper level by simultaneously healing underlying mental health issue(s) or past trauma's. Iris Healing Retreat is well known for specializing in caring for clients considered to be 'dual-diagnosis'. We employ Doctorate-level clinicans and Reputable Psychiatrists to address the mental health component, and utilize the latest in available technology to heal any underlying traumas that our clients may have. In fact, Iris utilizes Brainspotting, the latest and greatest technology available for the treatment of trauma. Additionally, each client has accesss to 3x weekly neuro-feedback sessions , between one and two private, face-to-face individual sessions per week, and family therapy sessions, which can be done via video-conference if family is not local. Our clients also participate in daily psycho-educational group sessions that focus on a variety of topics, such as Relapse Prevention, Emotional Process Groups, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and much more. Physical Health and Nutrition
We find that many of our clients neglected to maintain their health while in active addiction. Poor hygeine, unhealthy eating habits, and risky behaviors like needle sharing or sexual promiscuity are only a few examples of unhealthy behaviors that may have impacted client health. Iris Healing Retreat ensures that each new client is seen by our licensed M.D. within 24 hours of admission to our facility so we can begin healing the damaging effects of addiction on the body right away. Additionally, our doctor can prescribe medications for detox if necessary, which not only ensures client safety during that phase of recovery, but also helps to keep the client comfortable by minimizing the symptoms of withdrawl. Many addicts also come to us very malnourished. Our full time, private chef cooks 3 meals per day for each of our clients, and cooks with only nutritious, whole foods. We will also make sure to accomodate any dietary needs/preferences/restrictions that any of our clients may have. Our Case Managers can help to set and provide transportation to any outside medical specialists that our clients may need appointments with - such as dentists, OBGYN's, etc. A Compassionate and Understanding Approach
We at Iris Healing Retreat understand that many of our clients have been living in an emotional state of pain for years on end, so we make sure to offer services to all of our clients that encourage peace of mind. To help our clients achieve peace, we offer guided meditations, yoga, breath work, sound healing ceremonies, gym outings, experiential therapy, and transportation to community support groups like AA, Smart Recovery, or Codependants Anonymous. We respect all Religions and Spiritual Beliefs, and will gladly provide transportation to those services as well. Many addicts report feeling isolated and judged while in active addiction. One of our deepest core values at Iris is to maintain a compassionate, understanding, and empathetic environment. Because we have a maximum of 6 clients at a time in our house, our residents almost always form deep, uplifting, and encouraging bonds with the others in the house. We believe peer support to be just as impactful as the clinical support we provide.
