Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center serves adolescent girls and women ages 16-55 who have eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns and addictions. Because we recognize that eating disorders can be complex, we employ a range of treatment modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). For clients who are struggling with co-occurring addictions, we may also incorporate the 12-Step model of recovery into their individualized treatment plan. In our residential program, clients can participate in individual therapy approximately three times per week. Family therapy is also available, and daily group therapy sessions — led by therapists, registered dietitians, nurses, art therapists, and more — give clients the chance to take part in evidence-based therapies, discuss relevant topics, and engage in creative activities, all in a group setting. Clients typically remain in our residential program for 30-60 days depending on their unique needs.

Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Institute offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many young adults who receive treatment from Newport Institute using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Institute maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company.
