Teaching Emotion and Social skills 5-19
Quest is an innovative group program for kids 5-19, utilizing the natural environment of play to teach better emotional and social skills. Kids with mild to moderate emotional, learning and social problems participate in our 6-week summer (minimum 3 wk attendance) or 2 hr/week Afterschool program with licensed therapists and counselors developing individualized treatment plans based on need. Parents utilize Quest therapeutic techniques at home and receive written and verbal feedback on progress and effective approaches. Using unique therapeutic strategies developed by Dr. Field, founder, Quest campers improve self esteem, emotional coping and social interactive abilities. By observing kids in their peer group, problem behaviors and interpersonal problems are treated directly as they occur. Quest's professional staff guides treatment within a 6 hour/day summer program and the 2 hour, once a week program during the school year. Research has found Quest to provide "a strong treatment effect at reducing global impairment", reducing problems at home, school and play. Parents learn Quest strategies at home by feedback and direction by staff. Children with ADHD, high functioning autism, anxiety, depression and poor self esteem benefit greatly.
