Teen Treatment at Evolve Aura
Evolve Treatment Centers specializes in teens ages 12-17 struggling with emotion dysregulation, high-risk/self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation and other high-acuity mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. At the residential level of care, teens live on-site in a comfortable home for an average of 30-60 days and receive round-the-clock support and treatment. We incorporate multiple evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Teens participate in individual/family therapy, psychiatry sessions, and daily therapy groups such as DBT Skills Training, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, & Anger Management. For families from out-of-state, we offer family therapy via HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Each teen receives an individualized recovery plan that is custom-designed to meet their therapeutic needs, encourage personal growth, and lay the foundation for lifelong recovery. We also integrate daily academic support and experiential therapies (e.g. equine, surf, art, drama, fitness, cooking, and yoga) into our structured daily schedule. Evolve is fully licensed and accredited by CARF and the Joint Commission.

Evolve’s emphasis on personal attention and customized interventions are reasons why so many families from the West Coast and the country at large choose to travel to our residential treatment programs. We maintain one of the highest ratios in adolescent treatment centers. We only serve six teens at any given time. Evolve maintains strict safety protocols (such as line-of-sight policies, state-of-the-art monitoring technology, and 1:1 supervision - when warranted) to ensure our patients’ safety 24/7. Our experienced, licensed therapists, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, and Master’s-level counselors are all actively committed to your child’s lifelong recovery. Our full-time therapists only carry a caseload of three patients at any given time and conduct daily check-ins and skills-coaching in order to provide the most individualized care available. Residential counselors also provide in-the-moment, face-to-face coaching and crisis support whenever clients need it—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We teach our teens the skills needed for emotion regulation, improved impulse control, distress tolerance, and effective communication.
Free Clinical Assessments
To ensure that Evolve is clinically appropriate for your child, we offer complimentary assessment and referral services. Prior to admission into our program, we offer a confidential assessment in order to determine which level of care is needed for your teen. Upon admission, our treatment team collaborates with parents, schools, and referring providers to develop an individualized, solution-focused treatment plan that addresses each patient’s target behaviors. Each client's treatment plan is continuously reviewed and adjusted based on progress. When it is time for discharge, our dedicated discharge coordinator works closely with therapists on a detailed aftercare plan to ensure a smooth transition back home. Our beautiful home in Southern California features comfortable accommodations, a fully equipped gym, swimming pool and an onsite chef. Evolve accepts most private insurance plans, helping families greatly reduce the out-of-pocket cost of treatment.
