Harmony Place Monterey is a transitional living treatment center on the Central Coast of California. It's a one-of-a-kind outpatient alternative to residential care, featuring an intensive, three hours a day Outpatient Program or as a six hours a day Partial Hospitalization Program. Specialized Treatment for Those Who Suffer from Chronic Relapse It's not about just ridding yourself of the problematic symptom, the addictive behavior itself. What's at the root of the issue? An addiction is in place for a reason. Without getting to the WHY the addiction developed in the first place, relapse is bound to continue to occur. We Do Much More than Stop an Addictive Behavior The addiction, until understood in depth, serves a vital purpose of some kind; that purpose cannot be underestimated or overlooked. Removing an addictive behavior without comprehending what it's compensating for leads to an incomplete treatment program and the great potential for chronic relapse.

Our Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) residential treatment center in L.A. is perfect for teens ages 12-17 who struggle with mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Dialectical Behavior Therapy has a high success rate in adolescents with depression, anxiety, high emotional sensitivity, self-harm, and/or suicidal behaviors. Our program incorporates all four requirements of a formal Comprehensive-DBT program: individual/family therapy, 24/7 in-the-moment skills coaching, skills training groups, and weekly staff consultation team. (For out-of-state families, we conduct family therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant video conference.) In our skills-training groups, teens learn the four core skill-sets of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, & Distress Tolerance. Adolescents benefit from psychiatric supervision, academic support, and experiential therapies: equine, surf, drama, music, art, yoga and more. While our primary modality is DBT, we also incorporate CBT, 12-Step Supports, Relapse Prevention, PTSD treatment, and other evidence-based modalities depending on your teen’s clinical needs.

Dr. Daniel E. Bruzzone, PsyD, QME, Clinical Director of Accent On Wellness Psychology Associates, Inc. (formerly Social Science Consulting), specializes in Clinical and Forensic Psychology. His background also includes military and aviation-related experience, and he is bilingual (English/Spanish). Dr. Bruzzone has provided mental health services to diverse populations, and in varied settings throughout the Los Angeles area, since 2002. In addition, Dr. Bruzzone is qualified to perform POST-type pre-employment appeal assessments for police and public safety applicants, having completed over 200 of them for jurisdictions throughout California.
