Teens at Evolve’s renowned outpatient facility in San Diego live at home and attend treatment 3-5 days a week. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a half day of programming three to four days a week. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a full day of programming, five days a week. To determine which level of care is right for your teen, we offer free assessment and referral services by our Clinical Program Director. In both programs, teens receive one psychiatric evaluation weekly as well as 1-2 individual therapy sessions per week with our licensed, full-time clinicians. Daily, adolescents participate in groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Life Skills, Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness, 12-Step recovery, and Seeking Safety (for post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occurring substance use). Teens also receive daily academic support to help them stay on track with school. Since we believe treatment is most successful when the entire family is involved, we offer free Parent Support Groups and Multifamily Support Groups weekly as well. At Evolve, our goal is genuine growth that lasts long after your child leaves treatment.

Capalina Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in San Marcos, California, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to heroin, prescription painkillers, and other opioids. An opioid addiction can have devastating effects on numerous aspects of a person’s life, from their physical and mental health to their relationships and job satisfaction. Fortunately, opioid addiction is treatable, and research has demonstrated the effectiveness of medication-assisted treatment in helping individuals overcome opioid addictions and maintain long-term recovery. MAT combines prescription medications with counseling to address the complex nature of opioid addiction. The medications used in MAT can alleviate painful symptoms of opioid withdrawal, helping patients stop opioid use safely and comfortably. MAT also includes counseling sessions that can empower people to address the social and behavioral aspects of addiction and recovery. In MAT, patients can explore the underlying causes of addiction, identify potential triggers, and develop strategies to safeguard their recovery.

Medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, is a time-tested, research-supported approach to opioid addiction treatment for adults. MAT, which has been closely studied in the United States for several decades, has a documented history of effectiveness. The core components of MAT are prescription medication and counseling. The medications that are offered in MAT can ease some of the more severe symptoms of opioid withdrawal, and when people take these medications as directed by their doctors, they may find it much easier to end their opioid use. Some MAT patients take medication for a relatively brief time, then begin to taper off. Others continue to take medication for months or even years. The medications that are used in MAT programs have proved to be safe and beneficial for both short- and long-term use when taken with supervision from qualified professionals. The counseling component of MAT can help patients address the behavioral, emotional, and social aspects of opioid addiction. During counseling sessions, adults can gain information about the disease of addiction and develop the skills and strategies that can help them resist opioid use and achieve healthier futures.

Centered Ground began providing radically open dialectical behavior therapy (RO-DBT) in 2014, the first in Southern California to offer this groundbreaking approach. Directed by Dr. Angela Klein, part of the first intensively trained U.S. cohort completed by treatment developer Dr. Thomas Lynch, Centered Ground remains the only intensively trained program in the San Diego area. RO-DBT is the most current adaptation of traditional DBT for individuals who struggle with patterns overcontrolled behavior and emotional inhibition, including restricting eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa), pervasive anxiety disorders, and chronic depression. RO DBT provides psychoeducation and tools to address the underlying neurobiology behind these patterns, to facilitate greater self-understanding, compassion, and desired connection in relationships. The program is based on the research of Dr. Thomas Lynch over the past 20 years. Skills training occurs in a weekly two-hour class, as well as private sessions. In 2018 Mia Najor joined the team, completing intensive training, as well.
