We are a fully adherent, comprehensive, outpatient, mental health treatment program serving teens, adults, couples and families throughout California. We provide high quality individual, family and group therapies to those seeking to improve their lives, their relationships and reach their goals. Our clients are usually seeking help managing emotions, thoughts and behaviors and improve communication with others. We have a strong emphasis in interpersonal skills, emotion regulation managing and distress tolerance skills, as well as mindfulness, the foundation of what we teach and the cornerstone of our practice. We have a diverse and highly skilled staff and provide treatment in a compassionate and nonjudgmental setting. Experts Dr. Rob Weiss and Dr. David Fawcett have collaborated to create a comprehensive treatment program to treat men (18 years and older) with sex/porn addiction/intimacy disorders or with co-occurring sex addiction and chemical dependency (alcohol, stimulants, cannabis, other chemicals). Unlike other programs, SI: LA truly treats paired sex addiction and chemical dependency. Often addicts struggle with relapse as their paired addiction behaviors are not addressed in treatment/therapy. For some men, chronic infidelity is hurting their relationship and yet they can't stop. For men who have recently discovered that they have an issue with sex addiction/intimacy disorders or who have had some period of recovery but have relapse(s), the SI: LA program provides an solid foundation of recovery in a 14 day program. For those needing trauma healing or additional time, there is an opportunity to extend for another 7 or 14 days.

San Fernando Valley DBT is an adherent DBT Program serving the San Fernando Valley and surrounding Los Angeles region. We have a team of highly skilled, fully trained DBT therapists who offer individual therapy, DBT Groups, couples, and family therapy. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT, is a type of behavioral therapy that helps those struggling with emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance issues. While it is very effective at treating those diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), it can also be very effective at treating those with depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, substance use and a variety of other symptoms. In fact, the skills taught in the group can be effective for almost any individual. For those seeking comprehensive DBT, our program includes weekly individual DBT therapy, group therapy, phone coaching, and family consultation as needed. Individual DBT therapists participate in a weekly consultation team with other trained DBT therapists. Clients who participate in all of these components will meet the criteria for a fully treatment adherent DBT program.

Research and outcome studies demonstrate that intensive outpatient and day treatment provide outcomes which are equal to and in some cases greater than those of inpatient and residential models. The costs are clearly diminished, enabling a normative movement into recovery uninterrupted by further financial wreckage.

New Directions is now offering a group treatment telehealth program. We can now provide treatment for clients who live anywhere within the State of California. Telehealth is an innovative way to participate in our group treatment program and allows clients to connect with the therapist and one another in real time. It is easy to use and requires a computer with webcam , speakers and internet access. All communications are confidential and comply with privacy standards. We offer: Intimate group settings with a limit of 8 in a group 15 weeks intensive outpatient treatment, groups meet 3 times a week Group therapy facilitation by a licensed therapist Consultation with a nutritionist and/or registered dietitian Coordination with your primary care provider and/or therapist Individualized food plans prepared by our nutritionist. We offer groups for adults as well as an adolescent group. Our program integrates mental health, physical health, and we focus on depression, anxiety and eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.

Our virtual Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs are geared towards teens whose symptoms and behaviors are disrupting their day-to-day home living. Teens in our Partial Hospitalization Program participate in our full day of structured programming five days a week. Teens in our Intensive Outpatient Program attend three hours of programming three/four days a week. Our programs serve as a smooth transition for teens stepping down from an inpatient or residential treatment program, or as a higher level of treatment for teens requiring more structure than just weekly outpatient therapy. In both telehealth programs, teens receive individual and family sessions, multiple group sessions a day, psychiatric evaluations and educational/academic support (all via HIPAA-compliant video conference). Teens also participate in experiential activities like music therapy, art therapy, meditation, and yoga.
