AATC was founded in 1978 and now includes a staff of clinicians trained in a variety of nationally recognized treatment approaches to the entire spectrum of anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression and general quality of life issues. We see adults, children, couples and families and focus on short term evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual. Initial evaluations for adults are typically done by Dr. Linda Welsh who attempts to assign clients to the therapist best suited for them.

TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), is a safe, non-invasive, effective treatment option for individuals suffering from Major Depressive Disorder who have not seen satisfactory results from antidepressants. These pulses will feel like tapping on the scalp. When delivered at the correct frequency and intensity, the pulses create localized electromagnetic fields which have the ability to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. Although treatment plans are individualized, the typical course of treatment is 5 times a week, for 6 weeks. Each individual treatment session takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and patients can resume daily activities immediately after treatment. TMS does not use anesthesia, and patients are fully alert for the duration of the treatment session. TMS can be used as a stand-alone therapy, or in conjunction with medication and psychotherapies. TMS does not have the same side effects as traditional medications, and is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects are mild headache and sensitivity at the site of stimulation.

How Treatment Centres Can Help

Treatment centers in 19004 help clients with substance abuse issues, drug abuse, and pain treatment, as well as eating disorders. Treatment centers generally offer 30-day recovery programs, or longer-term 60 and 90-day programs.

The first step when you arrive in treatment is to begin a drug detox or alcohol detox. Medical professionals monitor your detox program to make sure that your detox is safe and appropriate.

The second step at most treatment centers is to begin therapy, either in groups or individually. Most 19004 treatment centers for alcohol or drug abuse emphasize this step as the beginning of the road to recovery.
