My practice is influenced by an eclectic approach, and I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT, and existential psychology.
I am an LCSW-C therapist who works with adults and couples. Life has a way of presenting people with challenges that may cause you to want to seek counseling to help you navigate your way through life's ups and downs. Sometimes these challenges make us feel stuck and uncertain, whether it be relationship issues, divorce, intimacy, death of a loved one, loss of a job, grief, suicide survivor, identity crisis, family conflict, addiction, processing trauma, sexual orientation, communicating or relating better, building coping skills and resilience, etc., or simply feeling like you are at a crossroads and not sure what to do next.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and mindful techniques to help individuals in each therapy session.
One of the most critical components of effective therapy is developing a connection with your therapist. My top priority is making people feel comfortable in sessions and working towards achieving the different goals they have for therapy. My clients are able to share their thoughts and experiences through a non-judgmental and safe environment that I strive to cultivate. I often hear people in therapy say “I don’t know what to do. My anxiety is controlling my life.” Others have said, “My depression is so debilitating” or “I just need someone to talk to because I feel my relationships are spiraling out of control.

I practice with a mix of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches.
Today you or your family are one step closer to a new you, where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. I see therapy (individual, couples and family) as a collaborative effort to figure out what obstacles are getting in the way of you and your family's happiness. We explore past and current behaviors, thoughts, relationships, and make connections between past and current experiences to help create change. We can work together to create a new experience that not only gets you through the storm to the calm, but can help you or your family thrive.

In our work together, I will approach you as an individual and draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and mindfulness and somatic approaches.
My goal in therapy is to create a safe place where you can comfortably identify, process, and work through the challenges that are making it difficult to build the life you want. I work with adolescents and adults dealing with life transitions, relationship challenges, difficulties at work or school, as well as those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. Sometimes people come to therapy because of a specific change, event, or issue they are dealing with and other times, you may not know exactly what you're looking for but suspect having additional support could help.

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
