You’re here because you're sick of being at war with your body, but you’re stuck. For years you believed shrinking your body was the only way to access the mental relief you crave and while you know by now that "diets don't work", you can't figure out how to just eat and live inside your body in peace. Maybe you've been diagnosed with an eating disorder, or tried to seek help in the past, but were made to feel that you are not "sick enough" to "meet criteria" or access the care you need. Regardless, you know you want to live a more authentic, more liberated life...and you're ready to try a new approach.
Therapy in my practice will feel affirming, collaborative and effective. You'll get an authentic therapist who shows up with equal parts “evidence-based treatment” for food and body image healing and fierce respect for your autonomy. We’ll engage in a lively, at times challenging, therapeutic process that helps you realize goals that are important to you.
Body image distress and disordered eating takes a profound toll on wellbeing, but it can also serve a survival function. Letting go of long held beliefs and behaviors can feel daunting, but it is doable when supported by a dedicated partner. It would be a privilege to join you on your healing journey. Please call or send a message to start a conversation.
