Change is always possible. I work from a strengths-based perspective, and I believe that the work of psychotherapy is to help people access untapped resources toward health and vitality. Someone suffering from depression is just that-a person with depression, not a "depressed person"--depression needn't define you. When you walk into my office, we will explore the roadblocks in your life that keep you from moving forward, and make a plan for getting past them.
My work is integrative, borrowing from family therapy, psycho-educational, psycho-dynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and Eastern philosophy mindfulness techniques. My practice encompasses those struggling with "stage of life" crises to more chronic issues. Often, I help people "get over a hump" and back on track with their lives.
My goal is to help people access their resources, and build inner strength, resilience and coping skills. Over my more than 35 years in practice, I have helped people repair even the most difficult of relationship rifts.
