Like a butterfly emerging into life, a child requires safety, care, and attunement. I believe in supporting child and adolescent emotional growth and developmental processes especially when hardships are faced, such as, Anxiety, ADHD, ASD Level 1 or high functioning. Using a collaborative approach by working closely with parents, schools, and other collaterals involved to enhance over all well-being in every capacity of the child's environment. As a child therapist, my approach stems from a strength-based perspective, using Play and Expressive Art Therapies, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies, and Somatic Experiencing.

Special attention is given to issues of Girlhood. Despite most young girls displaying strong, inherent self-esteem, a natural decline occurs as they mature into adolescent years causing eating disorders and other maladaptive behaviors. Mindfulness based therapeutic strategies are incorporated into the treatment plan to empower the child/teen.

Building skills through Somatic Experiencing to support the regulation of the nervous system and for the embodiment of emotions is an essential approach towards the healing process. When clients understand their survival response(s) to actual or perceived threat, their capacity for resilience is enhanced.
