My name is Zayna, and I'm an Arkansas native living in New Jersey. I have been an outpatient counselor for 9 years, with a specialty in trauma. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southern AR University. I treat a variety of diagnoses, but my passion lies in trauma based treatment. I have been trained and/or certified in 3 different trauma techniques, including EMDR. I like to approach therapy from a standpoint of empowering my clients to become the master of their own emotions. I do my best to tailor my methods to those that best suit my clients on an individual level, as no two people are the same.

Typical sessions involve discussing current issues and how they impact your level of functioning as we work together to identify healthy ways of managing emotions. I will assist you in processing feelings and identifying underlying issues, which can often stem from past experiences. If a trauma history is present, I'll help decrease emotional disturbances.
