Your mind and body are organized towards health and healing. When something difficult or intolerable happens, your system shifts to try and protect you to survive and function. But over time, the body and mind's way of protecting you begins to cause problems: health issues, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, loneliness, low self esteem, etc.
Through exploration and understanding, you can reframe your defenses as attempts to survive difficult circumstances. With self-compassion, your mind, body, heart, and spirit can begin to communicate with each other. This is the process of healing.
My style of therapy is warm, compassionate, curious, and gently directive. I work within an Integral framework, which includes mind, body, heart, and spirit in the process of healing. This includes trauma-informed therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Internal Family Systems (Parts work).
But more than techniques, what matters is the therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, childhood abuse, sexual abuse & assault, perfectionism, codependency, imposter syndrome & more. We'll explore the context of your family system, to better understand where you come from and the roles you were given.
