My warm, open-minded, and non-judgmental style cultivates a process that is both active and challenging. I'm not just here to listen; I'm here to help you get unstuck. Together we'll explore and confront the blocks in your daily life, as well as past events that are still holding you back. Our sessions will focus on increasing your self-acceptance, authenticity, and connectedness with others. You will develop skills to reduce feelings of shame, anxiety, and hopelessness.
Because no two individuals are the same, our treatment plan will be tailored to reflect your goals. My process draws on evidence-based techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches. I specialize in counseling clients in the entertainment industry, creatives in related fields, and the LGBTQ community.
Born and raised in California, I graduated from Stanford University before moving to New York City. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am a Clinical Professor at New York University, where I have taught for the past 17 years.
