Feeling isolated or hopeless? Unable to feel "in control"? I am here to help with compassion and empathy. I have 18 years of experience working with adults, first responders, the elderly, teens and the special needs population who have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, issues stemming from divorce and grief/loss who may be suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety or complicated grief. I was a member of the trauma team at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, CA for 7 years, worked at Rady Children's hospital for 5 years and S.D. Hospice. I am an EMDR Certified therapist and licensed in AL, AZ, CA, and FL.
I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to help heal clients. I understand the challenges that first responders and adults/elderly face and have first hand knowledge of issues with which families with special needs children manage. I was also the Social Worker of the year for Sharp Healthcare (CA) in 2019.
I am passionate about helping others heal from the effects of trauma, grief and loss; to get their lives 'back' and feel in control. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort and through this effort, my clients will gain deeper insight about themselves, improve their coping skills, feel heard and respected and increase their overall well being.
