My passion is to help people explore their challenges, fulfill their best hopes, and find peace. Psychotherapy is my second career, following a degree in education. My love for teaching is a strength I bring when providing psychoeducational support to clients. I have over 25 years of experience working with survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence, first at the Quetzal rape crisis center, then at Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, and later as a supervisor of the agency's STARS program, which I helped found.
I use a trauma informed approach with a focus on empathy and compassion to bear witness to those who are processing trauma, childhood abuse and neglect. I work with people navigating women's issues, grief, depression, relationship challenges and life transitions. My feminist approach includes a combination of Solution Focused, CBT, DBT and EMDR therapies.
I look forward to working with you to cultivate and utilize your strengths to grow into your best self.
