| español After more than decade in the mental health field, first as a student and now as a practitioner, I have found that those with a genuine desire for mental health services sometimes simply don't have the time to receive them. More worrisome still, those that mourn deeply or suffer from depression tend to lack the very motivation necessary to physically seek out services. My team and I specialize in perinatal, postnatal, and postpartum depression, and in grief counseling for all stages of life. We'll come to you - in person, over the phone, or online. Dr. Gonzalez is now a certified perinatal mental health professional.
Our specialties, among others: Reality Therapy, the idea that our actions are aimed at satisfying "basic needs" like belonging, and Existential Therapy, the belief that our inner conflict is our confrontation with "ultimate concerns" like death. Our focus: The present, a workable plan, and life has meaning, even in suffering.
However, a worthwhile therapeutic connection must come before addressing any "basic needs" or "ultimate concerns". Postpartum Support Group
A non-judgmental, safe place where mothers with common experiences or concerns meet and provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice. Group is facilitated by Dr. Yolanda Gonzalez. Registration is required prior to attendance. Please email yoly@fmhpllc.com for more information or call (786) 648-4447. $'20 fee for attendance. Refreshments will be served.
