Hello, I am Yoany Lopez-Hernandez, LMHC. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about life. I am here to support my clients through rough times and overcome trauma related issues focusing in healing and building self-love and self-confidence. I've been working with people that experienced trauma (ex. Sexual, Physical and/or psychological abuse during childhood, placed in foster homes, homeless, not feeling heard or validated, divorce, grieving, etc.). I've been focusing on identifying symptoms and helping them to deal with trauma related issues, while learning and practicing healthy and adaptive coping skills.
My main approach is "Trauma-Focus" and I've been working for many years with people that have been victims of different types of traumatic events. I want my clients to say, "I healing myself on all levels." I also love to use "Mindfulness" during the therapy sessions because when we focus in the present moment, it creates new experiences that can empower us.
I provide a safe environment, non-judgmental and open-minded. I like to use the therapeutic sessions for the clients to open-up and be able to talk about uncomfortable things that they are experiencing and can affect the functionality of some areas of their life.
